Neil Brendle as Clerk of Superior Court. North Carolina does not split local trial-court records between a district clerk and a county clerk. The Clerk of Superior Court is the unified clerk for both Superior Court and District Court records in Surry County.

The clerk is the in-person fallback for nearly every court-record question. The NC Judicial Branch states that criminal case information can be accessed at public self-service terminals in clerk offices, and that civil, special proceeding, and estate case information can also be accessed through clerk terminals. Because exact clerk copy and certification fees can change, the correct local action is to confirm the amount with the Surry Clerk of Superior Court before ordering.

Clerk vs Register of Deeds

The Surry County Clerk of Superior Court and the Surry County Register of Deeds are different offices. The clerk keeps trial-court records for Superior Court and District Court. The Register of Deeds, led by W.
